An Education Portfolio is used to record information about your qualifications, accreditation and continuing education. This information is used to provide evidence for your employer, a professional association and an industry regulators.
Instead of maintaining separate qualification and continuing education records, an Education Portfolio allows you to record the information once and 'share' the data with
- an employer
- a professional association
- an industry or regulatory body.
These organisations can post training and information about upcoming workshops and courses on your Education Portfolio, so you have a central point for accessing and recording activities.
For example, your employer will need to ensure you are trained and will provide training and a development plan.
This information might be shared (with your permission) with a professional association, who might provide information about their continuing education events and activities.
Your attendance at these meetings and workshops is recorded in your Education Portfolio and made available to your employer and the professional association.
